I make engagement rings, wedding rings and other pieces to order, and I do repairs. Everything is made in my workshop at Summerhall.

About Christopher

  1. Before

    His family has been in the jewellery trade for three generations, and he is the fourth.

  2. Age 17

    He moves to London to train in Hatton Garden, the city's jewellery quarter.

  3. 2001

    He comes back to Edinburgh and opens his own workshop on Dundas Street.

  4. Now

    The workshop is now at Summerhall, where he still makes every piece himself.

Repairs

  • Resize up or down
  • Re-tip or replace claws
  • Rhodium re-plating
  • Pearl & bead re-stringing
  • Reset a loose stone
  • Remodel an inherited piece

Most resizing is done the same day.

Many jewellers send repairs away to be done, which can take three to six weeks. I do the work here in the workshop, so a resize is often finished while you wait.

Larger jobs, such as remaking an inherited ring, start with a visit so we can talk through what you would like.

You don't need an appointment for resizing, but please phone before you come in.

Find your ring size

Knowing your size before you visit saves time. You can measure a ring you already own, or measure your finger.

  1. Set up your screen. Hold a bank card against the screen and move the slider until the dashed box matches the card exactly. On a phone, hold the card upright.

  2. Place your ring on the gold circle. Drag along the mandrel, or use − and +, until the circle fills the inside of the ring with no gap.
  3. Read your size below.
